As the Student Volunteer Coordinator for the Washtenaw Health Initiative (WHI), Karalyn organizes student volunteers for informative health insurance outreach events in Washtenaw County. These events aim to reduce underinsurance and insurance rates in the county.
Previously Karalyn held various research positions at the Michigan State University Institute for Health Policy, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) while completing her B.S. in Microbiology from Michigan State University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Health Management and Policy degree from the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan.
